Material Performance

Zamak is a zinc-based die-casting alloy with zinc as the base and aluminum, magnesium and copper as additives. It has the characteristics of low melting point, high fluidity, dimensional stability and easy surface treatment, and is widely used in precision die-casting parts.

Process Advantages

1. Ultra-high production efficiency, suitable for large-scale mass production
Die-casting machines feature a high degree of automation with a short single cycle (a few seconds to dozens of seconds), enabling continuous and uninterrupted production. The daily output is far higher than that of sand casting, precision casting and other processes.
2. Long mold service life (aluminum alloy die-casting molds can be used for tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of times), resulting in extremely low mold cost allocated to a single product. The larger the batch, the more obvious the cost advantage.
3. Integration of automated processes such as part removal, trimming and spraying is achievable, reducing manual intervention and further improving efficiency.
4. High dimensional accuracy of castings with excellent surface quality
High dimensional tolerance grade, with linear tolerance up to ±0.1 mm for small-sized parts. It can meet assembly requirements without a large amount of subsequent machining, and the machining allowance is only 0.1–0.5 mm.
5. Good surface finish of castings (Ra 1.6–6.3 μm). It can be directly subjected to electroplating, spraying and other surface processing with no or simple polishing required, ensuring strong appearance consistency.
6. Capable of forming complex thin-walled structures with high design freedom

Surface Treatment

A variety of surface conditions are available, including as-cast, sandblasted, pickling and passivation, mechanical polishing, electroplating, powder coating, anodization, etc., meeting the different requirements of industrial grade, food grade or high cleanliness (e.g., semiconductor, pharmaceutical) scenarios.

Application Performance

Zamak has a low melting point (379–389℃) and ensures smooth die-casting filling. It can form thin-walled parts with a thickness of 0.5–1.5mm and structures with fine patterns, threads and tiny inner cavities. The linear tolerance can reach ±0.05mm, the casting shrinkage rate is low (0.3–0.6%), and the dimensions are not easy to deform during long-term use, which can meet assembly requirements without a large amount of subsequent processing.
